My name is Mina. I’m studying abroad in Kamloops, Canada from September 10th to December 16th. I go to Thompson Rivers University from Monday to Friday. I am taking six classes and learning about Canadian culture, jobs in Kamloops, and the history about Kamloops at the University.
The reason why I came to Canada is I wanted to visit other countries. I had never been to other countries, so I was interested in other countries. When I was in elementary school, I often watched American dramas and noticed differences between Japanese and other countries’ lifestyles. In Japan, people take off their shoes in the house, while in America, people put on their shoes in the house. I was surprised about these differences in culture. This experience made me interested in culture. I want to know about different cultures around the world, so I am studying about culture. My goal in studying abroad is to speak English more smoothly, so I want to learn English from native speakers while I am staying in Canada.
